Side Project¶

Side Projects are strategic projects of nxt. Usually we also want to ensure a financial success for them. These Side Projects are treated with the same priority as customer projects. They have a financial budget, and they have people allocated to work on them.

Difference to Pet Projects¶

Pet Projects are projects on which our employees may work individually (or in groups) during a maxima of 20% of their work-time. Side Projects are strategic projects of nxt. They are treated with the same importance as customer projects, and we have strategic and/or financial interest in their success. These interests need not be the case for Pet Projects, and Pet Projects are definitely less important than customer projects.

Nevertheless, Pet Projects with significant potential may evolve to become Side Projects eventually.
